Web Hosting Alternatives
Although using a hosting service such as 110MB or GoDaddy is a good option, there are other options that may work depending on various factors of your business.
One of those options is self-hosting, or having the server and other equipment in-house. This is often the choice of larger companies that can afford the equipment and space.
However, smaller companies may look into using a commerce service provider, also known as a CSP. They provide Internet access as well as the ability for the company to do business online. Some other terms used for this service are MSPs and ASPs, or managed service providers and application service providers.

Another aspect of the hosting options is whether you want to use shared or dedicated hosting, or even co-location.
Shared hosting is when a Web site is hosted on a server that also hosts other sites. The server is maintained by the provider, so the only thing that needs to be focused on is the site itself.
Dedicated hosting is when the site is hosted on its own server, but the server equipment is still located at the provider's location.
The third option, co-location, is when the provider rents out space for a company to use their own server equipment. In this option, the server is maintained by the company that owns it, not the service provder.
